Welcome to the Class of 2013!

All incoming Freshmen are encouraged to complete the religious preference form.  This form will be included in the information sent to you electronically by the College.  The completed form from students who indicate they are Roman Catholic will be forwarded to Aquinas House (AQ).  You may also send your name and home address to Aquinas House directly by e-mail to:  aq@dartmouth.edu.  Around the end of August all incoming students who have provided AQ with their address and their families will receive a letter from Aquinas House with information about events taking place during Orientation and at the beginning of the Fall Term.   

Orientation and Fall Term Events for Freshmen

Beginning on Monday, September 14, at 9:00 AM, the Catholic Student Center will be open all day.  Students and families are welcome to stop by and visit.   The Fall Term Mass schedule begins on Monday, September 14, with daily Mass at 12:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Sunday, September 20 – Mass at 11:00 AM followed by breakfast and an Open House Aquinas House welcomes the Class of 2013 with a special breakfast after the 11:00 AM Mass and an Open House:  Find out about the Catholic Campus Ministry and Student Center and the variety of spiritual, educational, service, and social activities offered.  Current students will be here to greet you, answer your questions, and show you around.  Open to all students.

Monday, September 21 – Community Dinner - 5:30-7:00 PM, in the Aquinas House Kitchen:   Come meet the new members of the Aquinas House Catholic Community.  Food and fun!  Open to all students.  Invite your friends!
 
Thursday, September 24 – Fireside Mass at 9:00 PM:  An Aquinas House tradition - This is a special celebration of the Eucharist for students, concluding with Night Prayer, followed by social time.  Fireside Mass is held in the AQ Living Room next to the fireplace.  Relax by the fire and celebrate the Eucharist with your fellow students.

Sunday, September 20, and Sunday, September 27 - Registration and Time & Talent:  All new and returning students will be asked to fill out a campus ministry registration form.  This form will also allow you to express your interest in what AQ has to offer.  Even if you completed a religious preference card or completed a registration form previously, please fill out a registration form to provide AQ with complete and current information.  Information about the campus ministry programs and events will also be available.

Sunday, September 27 – Welcome Breakfast:  To begin the Fall Term all new and returning students are invited to a breakfast after the 11:00 AM Mass.

Retreat for Freshmen – an opportunity to meet other Catholic students and to reflect on our Catholic faith life at Dartmouth.  More information will be available at the beginning of the Fall Term.

Blitz List (e-mail):  All students who identify themselves as Catholic are put on our blitz list and any student may sign up to be on the list.   All undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students receive a weekly blitz with announcements and information about events and activities.


Freshmen Interviews – During the Fall Term, all freshmen who have identified themselves as Catholic are invited to meet with one of the Campus Ministers.   The purpose of the meeting is to make one-to-one contact, answer any questions that you may have, and talk about how we can help you take advantage of all that AQ has to offer.  A letter from one of the Campus Ministers will be sent to your Hinman Box (your Dartmouth mailbox) to arrange this meeting.
