While furthering the strong communal faith experience enjoyed here at AQ, I intend to increase efforts to connect with Catholic students not already part of the community as well as with the larger student body, for which I hope AQ can increasingly become a strong spiritual voice active in many areas of campus life.

The Aquinas House community is a blessing, offering a warm and secure environment regardless of where we are along our paths of Faith. I would love to serve this community as Vice President next year to contribute to its works of outreach, service, and spiritual growth to the best of my ability. I highly value and would like to continue the promotion of AQ as a place of encouragement of faith and hope on campus.

Since coming to Dartmouth, Aquinas House has been a warm, welcoming second home for me. By running for Vice President, I hope to be able to share with other students all the goodness that Aquinas House has been for me.

SECRETARY

I am running for Secretary because the Aquinas House community is my family here at Dartmouth, and I want to help this community grow to include as many Dartmouth students as possible.  Having served as chair of Outreach and Hospitality last year, I have lots of experience with organizing AQ events and have a lot of ideas for the new school year!  My goal is to use this position to create a sense of inclusion and welcoming in all Aquinas House events.

I live through Christ, for Christ, made present in the Eucharist, yet have found God's presence in other faiths compelling, and believe it's important to communicate and recognize the truth we share in order to live the peace we profess.

Having served on the AQ board before, I am very excited to become more involved in AQ once again. I am eager to represent Aquinas House to Tucker and to help organize with other groups on campus.

Over my time at Dartmouth, I have come to see the amazing community within Aquinas House.  Yet, I also know there is an amazing community of all faiths at Dartmouth, and I am excited to be a part of that.

I believe I can effectively represent our Catholic community on the Interfaith Council and in the wider campus community, in the process organizing events to increase awareness and exchange of knowledge of the complexities of both other faiths and our own.

CAMPUS MINISTRY COUNCIL
Aquinas House (AQ) is a ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester and provides the sacramental, liturgical, spiritual, and pastoral ministry of the Catholic Church to Dartmouth Students.  AQ is a community of faith in which each person is invited to grow closer to God through Jesus Christ and to live out the Catholic faith in daily life.

The Campus Ministry Council is an integral part of the ministry of Aquinas House to students.  The students who comprise the council, the officers and chairs of committees that serve the AQ Community (Faith Formation, Service, Community Life, Worship, and Outreach and Hospitality), collaborate with the chaplains to plan and implement the events, programs, and outreach at Aquinas House through a variety of spiritual, educational, service, and social activities.  The Campus Ministry Council meets monthly with the Chaplains.

The Council leads Community Meetings each month.  All students are invited and encouraged to attend these community meetings to help plan the activities and events with the Council and to participate in the various committees that serve the AQ Community.   Meetings will begin during the Summer Term 2007.

Stewardship/Registration – All students are invited to express their interest in the various committees that serve the Community (Faith Formation, Service, Community Life, Worship, and Outreach and Hospitality) by completing a stewardship/registration form at the beginning of each term.  Students may also contact any officer or committee chair directly.  Registration/Stewardship will begin in the Fall Term 2007.
