Sunday, May 25, 2008 Corpus Christi – Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ AQ study break picnic at Union Village Park – this Monday (tomorrow), Memorial Day, from 1:00-4:00 PM. To accommodate your study schedule rides leave AQ at 1:00 PM and at 2:30 PM, and leave the park at 2:10 PM and 4:00 PM. The park is located in Vermont and is about 20 minutes from AQ. There will be lots of that good AQ food, fun, games, and fellowship. All students are invited and welcome. RSVP – blitz AQ by Noon on Monday, and please let us know your preferred departure time. Sexuality and Spirituality Panel: Sex is Good (But Sin is Bad) – this Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 PM in the AQ kitchen. Classes over but you're not ready to study yet? Come for a spaghetti supper at 6:30 PM, followed by a panel and discussion from 7:00-8:00 PM, to consider sexuality from a Christian point of view. Panelists will be Deacon Greg McGinn and his wife, Allyson; engaged graduate student, Ana Posada; and Fr. Francis. Each will reflect on the application of Catholic sexual morality in their own lives followed by an opportunity for (anonymously posed) questions and discussion. RSVP to AQ with the subject "Study Break Panel" by Noon on Wednesday. Letters to the Class of 2012: AQ arranges for members of the Classes of ’09, ’10, and ’11, to write to individual members of the incoming Class of 2012 who are Catholic to welcome them into the Catholic community at Dartmouth and to share what goes on at AQ. If you are interested, please blitz AQ with the subject, "Letters." Names and addresses will be distributed when the names of the incoming students are received from the religious preference cards in August. Orientation: Help is need from the Classes of ’09, ’10, and ’11, for the events that AQ hosts during Orientation: "Come and See" on Thursday, September 18, from 4:00-5:00 PM; Mass and Breakfast for the Class of 2012 on Sunday, September 22, at 11:00 AM; the Activities Fair, and the United Campus Ministries event (dates and times to be finalized - probably Monday and Tuesday, September 23 and 24). AQ will arrange interim housing for you. If you are interested, blitz AQ with the subject "Orientation." Food collection for The Haven - The Upper Valley Haven is a private, not-for-profit, human services organization that offers emergency shelter for families struggling to meet their basic needs. AQ continues to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items. Collection baskets for food are located at the front entrance to the AQ Chapel and outside the AQ Office, and outside Food Court in Thayer Hall. AQ Web Master needed: AQ is looking for a student to maintain our website. If you are interested and willing to help out, blitz Fr. Mike - frmichaelop Book collection for Nigeria: Fr. Chris Chukwu, Catholic Chaplain at DHMC and a diocesan priest from Nigeria, is collecting books, particularly text books, for grade schools, high schools, and colleges in Nigeria, where books are scarce. If you have any books that you do not need and would like to donate them, collection boxes are set up in the AQ Library.
