This image and the following ones are selected axial CTs of the neck; image 1 is the most superior, and image 5 the most inferior. These were obtained with contrast enhancement. Intravenous contrast helps to distinguish blood vessels from adjacent muscles and lymph nodes, by making them higher attenuation.
