AP and Lateral cervical spine  
 

These radiographs show an AP (left image) and lateral view (right image) of the cervical spine. These images are commonly obtained for evaluation of traumatic or non-traumatic neck pain. In order to be complete, C-spine radiographs must show C1-T1 for adequate evaluation.

 
 

 

Identify the following:

1. posterior arch of C1 (lateral view)

2. occipital condyle (lateral view)

3. C2 vertebral body/dens

4. T1 vertebral body

5. lateral mass of C4

6. pedicle of C7

7. angle of mandible

8. trachea
