This image is obtained in a similar manner to the previous abdominal CT scan you have seen. The patient has been given intravenous contrast material to accentuate the attenuation (brightness on CT) from the vasculature.

2. left lobe of the liver

3. falciform ligament

4. stomach

5. spleen

6. descending aorta

7. crura of the diaphragm

8. celiac trunk

9. splenic artery

10. hepatic artery

11. splenic vein

12. portal vein

13. inferior vena cava

14. caudate lobe of the liver

15. left kidney

16. left colic (splenic) flexure

17. right colic (hepatic) flexure
