Michael Biondi '79, Co-Chair of DCF Committee, Dies at 50

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Mike Biondi '79, co-chair of the Dartmouth College Fund Committee, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, November 12, at his home in Greenwich, Connecticut. As reported in the New York Times on November 16, the cause was heart arrhythmia. This is a terrible loss for the Dartmouth family.

Mike's service to Dartmouth began not long after he graduated in 1979, and his commitment intensified in 1999 when he and his wife, Cindy Ginn Biondi '80, joined the Dartmouth College Fund Committee. Soon afterward he became co-chair of the reunion giving committee for his class, and, with Cindy, joined the President's Leadership Council. In 2005, he and Cindy became co-chairs of the DCF Committee and vice chairs of the Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience. Mike assumed these many leadership roles with Dartmouth because he believed deeply in the value of a Dartmouth education, the role of philanthropy in keeping it strong, and the importance of volunteer leadership in making it happen.
