Hello! You've reached the home page of the Dartmouth Aires,
Dartmouth College's oldest a cappella group and one of the nation's
premiere performing ensembles. Check out the gallery, blog and music
player to get a taste of how we sound and what we do! We have been
singing live, producing albums and touring the country since our
founding in 1946.
This year we'll be recording two new albums and performing shows all
across the country. Our vast repertoire features a mix of contemporary
favorites, traditional Dartmouth tunes, sketch comedy, and
the occasional piece of
opera, guaranteed to please all ages. If you have any questions or
would like to hire the Aires for a show, feel free to
contact us!!
Congratulations to Our New '13s,
Rob "Otto" Hoffman,
Clark "Gelo" Moore,
Will "Primo" Lowry,
and Danny "Elmo" Freeman!
The Aires at Fenway
This past June, Dartmouth President emeritus Jim Wright was asked to throw the first pitch at Fenway Park and the Dartmouth Aires were asked to perform the National Anthem. We can tell you from personal experience, the Green Monster looks a lot more menacing from the field when the stadium is empty. And the grass is just as soft as you imagine. Check out a video of our performance below!
How Extraordinairey!
Our newest album, Extraordinaire, is on sale! The album features the buttery voice of Jarret "Pluto" Cato on "Crazy" – selected for the Best of Collegiate A cappella (BOCA) Compilation 2008 – and the astounding tenor of Ricky "Zebo" Cole on "Separate Ways/Worlds Apart" – nominated for Best Male Solo by the Contemporary A cappella Recording Association (CARA). Check it out in our store, or online at iTunes, Napster or Amazon.com!
