About the Banner:
The “Life of Malcolm X” murals were painted by Florian Jenkins in 1972. The eight panels depict the life and assassination of the human rights activist. The murals were sponsored by the Afro-American Society and are located in Cutter-Shabazz Hall.
Interested students may pursue a concentrated program of study by preparing to obtain the major or a minor in African and African American Studies. As a general foundation, students who major or minor in AAAS are expected to gain a cross-disciplinary and diaspora exposure, as well as to focus their studies on a particular topic or theme. See the individual AAAS Major and AAAS Minor pages listed above for specific requirements.
