The Tutor Clearinghouse

The Tutor Clearinghouse is a subset of the Academic Skills Center (located at 224 Baker Library) that facilitates student-to-student academic support through such programs as peer tutoring and study groups.

It is important for students to know:

that timesheets must be submitted by the end of each pay period through the new, electronic timekeeping system, KRONOS.  It is important to read each/every announcement you see about this, so that you can transition through the new procedure seamlessly.  Be on the lookout for any email messages from the STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OFFICE or KRONOS.ADMINISTRATOR.  They will contain instructions, with a link to a video, that you must watch if you are to complete the timesheet correctly.  Remember, it is the student's responsibility to turn in timesheets as required by the department (i.e., no later than 11:59 p.m. every other Saturday evening).  This is important for three reasons:

(1) KRONOS does not accommodate late time submission;

(2) this is the only way students can be paid in a timely manner; and,

(3) if timesheets are held to the end of the term (or later) and submitted when the student is no longer enrolled in courses, Medicare and Social Security taxes are required to be withheld, which reduces the wages the student receives.

Moral of this story?  Start now to manage your time so that timesheets are submitted punctually to the Tutor Clearinghouse, or lose some of the money you've worked so hard for!

IMPORTANT: Any students who have been matched in prior terms for tutoring or language conversation who want to continue to work together in an immediately-following term, must STILL submit the requisite paperwork for approval. Assumptions about your ability to continue to work together should not be considered an automatic approval (on your part) to do so.  Contact the Tutor Clearinghouse Intern for more clarity about that (Tutor.Clearinghouse@dartmouth.edu).
