The Present: 2005-2009

In these years, the Academic Skills Center continues to expand, reaching more students than ever before. This has been due to both increased participation in the ASC's workshops and roadshows, and the ever-growing Tutor Clearinghouse and Study Group program. Student Accessibility Services, formerly Student Disabilities Services, is now its own office that shares the same office space as the ASC in 301 Collis. This arrangement has been successful for both offices, students, and the College.

  • The total student contacts for the ASC grew to 5,932, an increase that Carl attributed to the continued success of individual advising sessions, workshops, roadshows, and presentations, especially among the student-athlete populations, as well as increased usage of the Tutor Clearinghouse and Study Group programs.
  • Michelle moved to Washington, D.C. in the spring term and Meg Hancock was appointed as the new academic adviser to student athletes from a very strong pool of applicants.
  • As of early September, 2006, Student Accessibility Services, previously Student Disabilities Services, will be a separate office, though sharing the same office space (301 Collis).
