The Department of Psychiatry at DHMC is conducting a research study to evaluate the effects of two different treatments for depression and obesity in women.

Study participation is free of charge and participants are compensated for their time.

Join Team "Wellness Heroes" at the CHaD HERO event on October 18th!

This team of faculty, staff, family, and friends is on a mission to help all kids served by CHaD by providing funding for critical programs. Be a HERO and register for the 5K walk or run, the 10K wooded hike, the half-marathon, the Cam's Fun Run for kids, or volunteer and help raise funds for CHaD!

Planning for a Maternity/Paternity Leave

Employees looking to learn more about Dartmouth College maternity/paternity leave benefits and other important topics relevant to planning for or expectant parents are invited to attend an education session on September 23rd, from 3:00-4:30, The session will be hosted at the Office of Human Resources -7 Lebanon St., Suite 203.

The Sprouty (September)- Sharon, VT:

The Sprouty supports the Farm-to-School program at the Sharon Elementary School. The 5K and 10K race along the White River celebrate good health, local agriculture and the beauty of September in Vermont.

March for Babies

 March for Babies (May)- Upper Valley, NH:

Sponsored by the March of Dimes, events throughout the year let you walk for the little ones. Check the site for ways to participate locally.

 Walk MS

 Walk MS (May)- Vermont, White River Junction:

Every spring, the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society sponsors a walk to aid the 20,000 people in the region who suffer from MS.

 Walk on the Wildside (May) with the Upper Valley Humane Society:

Sponsored by the Upper Valley Humane Society, this walk supports animal welfare in many aspects.

Tuck Run for the Kids

 Tuck School of Business Run for the Kids (May):

 Each May for the past 27 years, students run to raise money for David's House, the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth, and Upper Valley Child and Family Services, David's House, and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. There are awards for the top three 5k and 10k runners, and kids participate free.

 Covered Bridges Half-Marathon

Covered Bridges Half-Marathon (June)- Woodstock, VT:

Runners raise more than $30,000 each year for local nonprofits focused on sports for young people.

 Skip's Run

Skip Matthews Memorial Father's Day Run (June)- Lebanon, NH:

Choose from a 4-mile race or a 1-mile walk/fun-run (kids welcome!) All proceeds benefit the Brain Tumor Research Fund at Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

 Prouty

The Prouty (July) - Hanover, NH:

Sponsored by the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the Prouty is a 33-year tradition in which cyclists, walkers, rowers, and golfers pay tribute to those who battle Cancer.

 

Big Green Pazooie

**Are you looking to join a team for the 2014 Prouty? Well, look no further than team "Big Green Pazooie". Made up of alumni, friends, staff, faculty, students and families affiliated with Dartmouth College, Geisel Medical School, DHMC, Tuck, and Thayer, Big Green Pazooie is looking for new members to walk, ride, row, volunteer and golf at the Prouty and the Prouty Ultimate on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th, 2014. The team has training activities, social gatherings, fund raising support, spirited pep talks, newsletters, customized team t-shirts, and much more. Raising money for care and support of Alzheimer's patients and for continuing Alzheimer's research, the annual walk in Rutland, Vermont includes walkers of many ages and ability levels and is part of a national effort.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Vermont grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Participate in a scenic walk beginning at the Shelburne Museum. 

Arthritis Walk 

2012 Arthritis Walk (September) - Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, Lebanon NH:

Celebrating movement with movement, the walk raises funds to improve the lives of those with arthritis and to contribute to arthritis research.

 Alliance Against Cancer

Friends Fighting Cancer 5K (September)- Manchester, NH:

Support cancer research and patient care with a 5K walk/run road race and 400M kids race through the old Mill District along the Merrimack River.

 Harpoon Road Race

 

Harpoon Octoberfest Road Race (October) - Windsor, VT:

This 3.6-mile road race benefits Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Work up an appetite for Harpoon Octoberfest beer, bratwurst, and some Oompah by kicking up your heels on this scenic course at the brewery.

 

CHaD Half Marathon 

CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Ripcord 5K (October) – Hanover, NH

 Choose from the half-marathon, 5K Ripcord run, 5K walk, one mile Cam's Course, or volunteer. All proceeds will go to support CHaD programs (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock) that provide care to kids from across our region.
