The Epsilon Chi chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded at Dartmouth on December 30, 1978, and was the second sorority at Dartmouth College.
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good. Epsilon Chi has long made philanthropy a key priority of our chapter. Individual members participate in a wide variety of campus volunteer programs, including, but not limited to: LEAD, WISE @ Dartmouth, Money Smart, DREAM, North Country Weekend, OLE, as well as Alternative Spring Breaks and the Cross Cultural Education and Service Program (CCESP). As a sisterhood, we host fundraising events to support breast cancer research/Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and volunteer regularly at David's house. During Sophomore Summer, we participate in the annual Prouty to raise money for the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of books and materials from our chapter. Most recently, we organized a bookmark-making session at the Alpha/Rho Province meeting.
More information about us
We’re a women’s organization. It starts with that. But where we go from there is up to the woman. Kappa Kappa Gamma offers a member experience ranging from friendship to mentoring, from leadership to service and from campus activities to a lifetime of community involvement. Kappa is one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities in North America. Founded in 1870, it now boasts 136 collegiate chapters and nearly 300 active alumnae associations. More than 230,000 Kappas have been initiated since the fraternity's founding. Kappas supports and promotes various aspects of the college experience, including scholarship, philanthropy, inter-personal relationships and self-growth. Dartmouth Kappa exemplifies commitment to these ideals both within the chapter and as members of the Dartmouth community. Our members excel in the classroom, on the playing fields, in their extracurricular pursuits, and in professional world after they leave Hanover.
