Youth Education & Mentoring Programs (YEM)

Our Youth Education Mentoring (YEM) programs connect committed Dartmouth students with local youth and aim to teach them about educational access and equity.

DCSI offers five different opportunities for students to partner with schools and community organizations and create holistic approaches to youth growth, development, and learning. Click below for more information on each program.

AMERICA READS

America Reads employs Dartmouth students in the Federal Work-Study Program as in-school tutors and after-school program aides in the Rivendell, Hartford, and Lebanon school districts, providing intensive reading assistance to K-3 students.

Growing Change

Growing Change is a farm-to-school program that connects Dartmouth Volunteers with the Upper Valley's vibrant agricultural community. Volunteers work with youth from the Dothan Brook School (DBS), either developing and facilitating science curriculum for first and second graders or planning activities for their afterschool program.

OLE

The Outdoor Leadership Experience (OLE) is a group mentoring program that works with fifth through twelfth graders from Canaan, NH. OLE Leaders mentor groups of kids once a week through after school activities aimed at teaching leadership and outdoor skills.

SIBS is a one-on-one mentoring program that pairs Dartmouth students with kids ages 6-13, that attend one of our partnering elementary schools.
