Eligibility, Sales and Waiting List Policy

Eligibility

Only employees qualifying for Dartflex benefits who are regular, full-time employees are eligible to buy the homes at Grasse Road.

Priority System

Offers will be treated on a first come, first served basis as of the date they are received. All offers received from the date of the first open house to 5:00 p.m. on a date designated by the Real Estate Office (typically Friday or Monday following the open house) will be deemed to have been received at the same time on the same date. If more than one person submits an offer for the same house at the same time, the following priority policy will be used to determine the successful buyer.

1. First, priority will be given to interested buyers who are currently home owners at Grasse Road Phase I or Phase II seeking to purchase a Grasse Road house which has a greater Model Base Square Footage than their current home. (See Exhibit A Below). The Owner must demonstrate that their current Grasse Road home is in good condition and ready for immediate resale. Owners must further demonstrate, at the time of their application, their financial ability to purchase the larger home. If more than one person wishes to buy, the person who has owned their Grasse Road home for the longest period of time shall have priority.
2. Second, if no current Grasse Road home owner wishes to purchase, priority will be given to those eligible employees who have NOT owned a principal residence in the Dresden School District within the last 12 months.
3. Third, priority will be determined by random lottery. 

Priority status will be based on the status of the interested buyer as of the date that the employee submits an offer. Requests for exceptions should be forwarded to the Real Estate Office through the employee's Dean or Senior Officer, who in turn must petition the Housing Committee to consider and approve the request. Dartmouth College reserves the right at any time to make exceptions and changes to these policies.

Sale to Non-Employees

From time-to-time Dartmouth may make available for sale Grasse Road homes to non-Dartmouth Employees.
