Dartmouth's For-Sale Housing Program is designed to provide College employees with the opportunity to purchase homes in Hanover at more affordable prices than can be found in the market. Under this program, the College offers homes for sale to employees at attractive prices but subject to the College retaining an option to repurchase the property at a capped (CPI adjusted) price. The provisions of the repurchase option are designed to allow the program's housing to remain affordable to future generations of College employees.
Most single-family homes offered for sale are in the Grasse Road area of Hanover, two miles east of campus. There are presently 55 homes owned by College employees in the Grasse Road neighborhoods. Additionally, there are condominiums located in, or within walking distance, of downtown Hanover that are part of the For-Sale Housing Program, including the units at 19 South Park Street and 5 Currier Place.
