
South Block is a downtown redevelopment currently under construction at the corner of South Main and South Streets in Hanover, New Hampshire. South Block consists of five mixed-use buildings (residential over retail) containing approximately 23,500 square feet of commercial floor area, 41 apartments and 108 parking spaces. Four of the five buildings are fully occupied by established local regional merchants including Hanover True Value Hardware, Systems Plus Computer, Umpleby's Bakery & Cafe, and Ramunto's Brick & Brew Pizzeria.
Construction of the final building at 68 South Main Street is nearly complete with occupancy slated for late August 2008. When completed, the mixed-use building will contain 10,500 square feet of commercial space, and 24 apartments. Commercial tenants include C. Beston and Company (Interior Furnishings), The Mountain Goat (Outdoor Clothing, Footwear, and Travel Gear - www.mountaingoatnorthampton.com) and Yama Restaurant (Fine Korean & Japanese Cuisine for In-house Dining or Take Out). In addition, there is 2,250 sq.ft. of office space available.
South Block promises to enhance this already vibrant New England college town by providing a diverse mix of retail, social and housing opportunities in a compact, pedestrian-friendly environment.
