Members of Dartmouth’s Presidential Search Committee invited students, faculty and staff to submit nominations, in an on-campus open forum held October 3.
Community members asked questions and expressed interest in recruiting a president who would advance sustainability, diversity, and financial aid.
Al Mulley ’70, chair of the search, provided an update on progress and discussed the recently-released leadership statement, “The Opportunity for Leadership at Dartmouth,” a document which will guide the search.
Mulley emphasized three commitments made by the Board of Trustees regarding the process:
- Making the best use of institutional learning that comes with a leadership transition.
- Conducting a transparent and confidential search.
- Conducting as active a search as possible by ensuring every member of the committee solicits nominations and recommendations. The committee also is using the executive search firm Isaacson Miller, led by John Isaacson ’68.
