About Us

The Health Professions Program (HPP) is an academic advising program for students interested in health professions. Dartmouth's pre-health advisors can guide you through the process, from your first year at college until your matriculation in a health professions program. Advisors have weekly walk-in hours and are also available by appointment.

What Does the Health Professions Program Do?

• Assists with your pre-health course selection, crafting a D-Plan.

• Partners with the Nathan Smith Society (Dartmouth's largest pre-health student society), which runs our Shadowing Program.

• Facilitates the Pre-Health Peer Mentor Corps.

• Identifies research opportunities.

• Manages The Pathways to Medicine Initiative that supports students from backgrounds under-represented in medicine.

• Works with the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) and Geisel Medical School to organize events.

• Oversees the Medical/Dental/Vet school application process for current students and alumni.

• Sponsors workshops and community events.

• Connects students with campus resources.
