Name: Hanna Sheikh
Class: 2019

Hanna Sheikh ’19 comes from Portland, Oregon and graduated from Catlin Gabel High School. At Catlin Gabel, Hanna was a Melon Scholar at since 2010 and served on the student government association as Inclusivity Coordinator and was also served on her school’s Judicial Council. She led multiple school organizations including UJIMA diversity group and SAFE (Students and Friends for Equality). She founded the schools first Black Student Union.  In her Portland community, Hanna was a PASS mentor and tutor for high school and middle school students from Somali refugee communities in northeast Portland.
At Dartmouth, Hanna is a Pre-Health student who plans to pursue a major in Biological Anthropology and a minor in Biology. Hanna is a Student Assembly member serving on the diversity and Inclusivity board. She is involved with Dartmouth African Students Association, Al Nur Muslim Student Association. She is a Global Issues Scholar, a part of the Rockefeller Global Leadership Program this term and as well as a Divest. After graduation, Hanna plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a general practitioner in the US and in underserved communities abroad.
