NSS had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Don Kollisch for a “Dinner with a Doc” this term. Dr. Kollisch gave an incredibly engaging talk about his background working with underserved populations through his specialty in family medicine and involvement with the Good Neighbor Health Clinic in the Upper Valley. He spoke quite a bit about social determinants of health and the importance of the implementation of public policies that both better the health of marginalized groups and provide better access to quality health care for these groups. He also talked about what it is like to fully dedicate yourself to a life of service in the field of medicine, and many students who are interested in primary care and family medicine found his story inspiring. We are incredibly appreciative to have had the chance to hear such an interesting talk and story from Dr. Kollisch!
