Whether in the classroom, in the lab, on the edge of the ocean or in the studio, Dartmouth faculty are searching for answers, a passionate quest for knowledge and the perpetual exchange of information that takes place at Dartmouth. For Dartmouth's faculty, the process of research and teaching is seamless. Together with their talented undergraduate and graduate students, they are totally engaged in the pursuit of knowledge. Dartmouth has more than 350 tenured and tenure-track faculty members in the undergraduate college, of whom 33 percent are women. More than 90 percent of the faculty hold doctorate or equivalent terminal degrees and the undergraduate student to faculty ratio is 8:1.
