    Big Green falls - Columbia came from behind to beat Dartmouth 7-5 this afternoon in the third and deciding game of the Ivy League baseball championship at Red Rolfe Field. Columbia moves on to the NCAA Men's College World Series; the Big Green finishes the season with a 25-17 mark. Details to come soon on the Dartmouth Athletics web site.

    Rock on - Illinois Entertainer calls them "pop rock prodigies." They've recorded six albums since 2000, and one of their songs was recently featured on MTV's "The Real World." Indie rock phenomenon Filligar is almost pure Dartmouth: twin brothers Teddy and Pete Mathias (Class of 2009) and their younger brother Johnny (Class of 2011), started the band in high school, together with Casey Gibson, who now attends Hamilton College. The band will be performing at Dartmouth's Green Key weekend on May 17, alongside Otis Day & the Knights.

    Start your engines - The crowds may be a little smaller at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway this week, but the racing will be just as intense as any NASCAR event. Sixteen teams gather in Loudon starting today for the second annual Formula Hybrid International Competition, founded and run by Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering.

    Rained out - The Ivy League baseball championship between Dartmouth and Columbia scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Red Rolfe Field has been rained out. The best-of-three title series has been rescheduled for Tuesday, with two games starting at noon; and Wednesday, if necessary. The Big Green and the Lions split a regular season double-header on April 11.

    Supportive and sustainable - Patients who rely on the Good Neighbor Health Clinic for free medical care have been able to get everything from acupuncture to immunizations. Now, thanks to four of Dartmouth Medical School's 2007-08 Albert Schweitzer Fellows, the clinic—located in White River Junction, Vt., and staffed almost entirely by volunteers—can help uninsured and underinsured patients who lack enough to eat or who have mental-health problems.

    Our digital lives - Smartphones, IM, wireless broadband, social networking ... modern life has become a dizzying array of digital tools and opportunities. A panel of national journalists comes to Dartmouth today to consider the ways in which digital advancements have played out in society. Part of their visit includes a free panel discussion titled "Our Digital Lives: Successes and Failures in the Digital Age." The discussion will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Silsby 028.

Showcasing compositions and performances by undergraduate and graduate students as well as by faculty and special guests, this watershed event takes listeners where no other music event can.

    Vox the vote - Voting opens today in the annual election for officers and Executive Committee members of the Dartmouth Association of Alumni. Alumni will be asked to elect a president, first vice president, second vice president, and secretary-treasurer, as well as seven Executive Committee members. All Dartmouth alumni are eligible to vote through June 10.

    Emphasizing the "student" in student athlete - They excel on the fields, courts, and rinks, but Dartmouth's student athletes excel in the classroom as well. For the second straight year, 24 of Dartmouth College's varsity athletic teams will receive public recognition from the NCAA for having Academic Progress Rate scores among the Top 10% nationally in their respective sport.
