Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my registration packet in the mail?

FYFW information is mailed to families in February; SFW information is sent out in June. We use the Eventbrite system to process registration and payment online– when registration opens, please click the "Register Now!" button on the left to be taken to the registration page.

How do I pay for registration?

We accept credit cards through the Eventbrite system. Pre-registering using your credit card online is the quickest and easiest registration method. We also accept cash and checks on-site.

Are all events included in the registration price?

All events sponsored by the Collis Center for Student Involvement are included in the price. Other campus departments will be hosting events over the weekend, and some may require an additional cost (e.g. productions at the Hopkins Center, canoe rentals). The final schedule in your registration packet will specify which events have an additional cost.

Additionally, your Dartmouth student is able to attend all Collis-sponsored events for free– there is no need to register your Dartmouth student.

The New Hampshire weather is quite variable and hard to predict, both in the spring and summer. Family Weekends are often warm and sunny– but cool, rainy weekends are also common. Be sure to consult a weather service when packing for your visit!

What are the dates of future Family Weekends?

The dates for upcoming Family Weekends are released after each respective weekend occurs in the current year (i.e., the dates for the 2019 First-Year Family Weekend are made available after the 2018 First-Year Family Weekend is over). We are not able to provide dates any earlier, due to possible changes in Dartmouth's long-term calendar. Please visit the first year and sophomore family weekend pages for the dates of upcoming Family Weekends.
