Dartmouth’s diverse dining facilities are the hub of social activities on campus. The Dartmouth Dining Services (DDS) team is dedicated to meeting dining and nutritional needs, and enhancing the social atmosphere, for students, staff, and visitors on campus.
Dartmouth Dining Services, an award-winning collegiate food service, has traditionally ranked highly with our customers. Our highest form of praise comes from our daily interactions with students, and the greater-Dartmouth community. Student input is always welcome when it comes to the variety, quality, and value of meals at Dartmouth.
The Class of 1953 Commons is Dartmouth's premier all-you-care-to-eat dining hall. The Collis Center and the Hopkins Center also house full-service cafes, and locations in the library and in the East Wheelock cluster provide meals and snacks throughout the day.
Kosher and Halal meals and other menu options are available in '53 Commons. Rabbi Safra of Tablet K, has been working with Dartmouth Dining Services to maintain The Pavilion, located within '53 Commons, as a dairy-free kosher kitchen.
'53 Commons also contains the Herbivore, a completely meat-free kitchen serving vegetarian and vegan fare, as well as a dedicated gluten free section.
DDS is committed to sustainable dining and works closely with the Sustainability Office, to make dining services a cutting edge environmentally friendly work place. The renovations of '53 Commons, completed in 2011, made dining at Dartmouth significantly more sustainable. The added insulation alone has a great impact on our carbon footprint and our contribution to landfills has been more than halved.
