Details about covering the Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate at Dartmouth
Working members of the media wishing to cover the Dartmouth debate on September 26 must be credentialed through Dartmouth's Office of Public Affairs using the following online form:
Deadline for credential applications: 6 P.M. EST Wednesday September 12, 2007. You will be informed by Thursday, September 13 if your credential application has been approved.
Credentialing Process
Media credentials will be required to gain access to the Media Filing Center and the Spin Room, which will be located in Dartmouth's Alumni Gymnasium, and the media stand-up positions that will be located along the Dartmouth Green. Please note that media credentials do not provide access to Spaulding Auditorium, the site of the debate.
Once credentials have been granted, we will hold a media logistics call on Friday, September 14 and a debate site survey for broadcast media on Friday, September 21.
Credentials for approved media will be distributed in Alumni Gym Tuesday evening, September 25, from 3-8 p.m. and starting again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26 until 8 p.m. Any media needing credentials after 8 p.m. need to go the Media Filing Center and ask for Genevieve Haas. Dartmouth will host a dinner for credentialed media from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26.
Telephone Orders
Wednesday, September 12, is also the deadline for telephone orders for the debate. Telephone orders will be handled directly by Kathy Frazer, Manager of Telecom Technical Services at Dartmouth. All costs for lines and telephone instruments will be paid by media requesting these services. Please email requests directly to Kathy Frazer. Facilities
Media filing facilities and spin room for the democratic presidential debate will be located in Dartmouth's Alumni Gym. Space is limited, so make sure you apply as soon as possible.
Phones
There is cellular coverage on the Dartmouth campus. Media organizations that require telephone lines must order them directly through Dartmouth by contacting Kathy Frazer. There will be a charge for phone lines, as well as an additional charge for a telephone instrument if one is required. The deadline for telephone orders is Wednesday, September 12, by 6 p.m.
Internet Access
Free wireless internet service for the debate will be provided by Dartmouth.
