Web 2.0 Tools

Freely available web tools can find a place in most Dartmouth courses. Examples:

  • Flickr (image sharing)
  • VoiceThread (voice-annotated presentations)
  • Delicious (shared bookmarking)
  • YouTube (web video)
  • Blogs
  • Wikis

What all of these tools share is that they can be used by all students in the class to collect content, share it, comment on it or re-use it, either in a restricted private setting, or in dialogue with the world. Using these tools can increase student engagement and lend more authenticity to student projects and assignments.

If you are interested in learning more about these tools, and how they might fit with the learning goals for your courses, please e-mail educational.technologies@dartmouth.edu.
