All current faculty, staff, alumni and students of Dartmouth have a Dartmouth Account with a corresponding user name (NetID) and password. Your user name (NetID) and password are what identifies you on the Dartmouth network and allows you to authenticate in order to access your e-mail account and other systems. It is your electronic fingerprint.
As a responsible member of the Dartmouth community, it is critical you maintain the security of your account. If someone obtains your user name and password, they can log into systems that do not require an additional authentication step for access as if they were you. If you think someone is using your password or that your account may be compromised, you should change your password immediately.
To find your NetID, go to: http://www.dartmouth.edu/comp/systems/netid.html
New users should claim their account at http://claim.dartmouth.edu to set an initial password.
Go to the Dartmouth Directory Manager, a web-based utility designed to allow you to edit selected Dartmouth Name Directory (DND) fields and mail settings associated with your account.
If you have already claimed (activated) your account and provided answers to security questions, go to dartdm.dartmouth.edu and click the Forgot Your Password link. Answer the questions as they appear.
If you have not yet claimed (activated) your account, you will not have security questions and will need to contact us directly, for a resolution.
In all cases, You will be required to show your Dartmouth ID, some form of picture ID or provide other information to verify your identity
