Do You Think Your Computer Is Broken?

Does your computer no longer turn on? Do you get a kernel panic ("Help, we're hanging here")? Or always end up in "Safe Mode"?

Peter Kiewit Computing Services provides many different avenues for you to get the problem fixed.

To get help, first please contact your department's computing support office. In many cases, they will be able to determine if the problem is caused by software, in which case they can assist you with fixing the problem, or if they think the problem is a hardware failure, they will refer you to the appropriate resource.

If you prefer to fix the problem yourself, see Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

If you would prefer to pay to have the problem fixed, bring your computer to Computer Sales and Service in 171 Carson Hall. They are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weekdays. Your computer will be added to the repair queue and serviced as soon as possible. You will be charged an hourly rate for the repair. Computer Sales and Service can be reached by phone at 646-3249 or send e-mail to computer.sales.and.service@dartmouth.edu.
