Downloadable Documents

.pdf, .doc, .xls, .ppt, similar file types - not HTML files

  • Let the user know when they are about to download a .pdf document or some other type of file (Excel, PowerPoint). A simple notation after the link is suggested. (xls, doc, ppt).

Example: OmniUpdate Quick Tips (PDF) or OmniUpdate Quick Tips (pdf)
  • Be consistent throughout your site, for example, using (PDF) or (pdf).
  • All of these file types should reside in the /docs/ folder in the top level of your site. Please contact Ellen Kanner if you need to have a /docs/ folder established for your Web site.
