BlitzMail for Mac OS X users should click the Folders icon within their BlitzMail Tool bar. A window will appear listing all your folders. At the bottom of this window, on the right side, are the fields that pertain to SpamAssassin. First, create a folder within BlitzMail into which all messages flagged as spam will automatically be directed. This folder may be titled anything you wish, but common choices are "Spam" or "Junk." Second, set the Spam Folder field to the folder you created where you want all spam messages to be filtered. Make sure you have created the folder to hold the spam. Next, drag the slide bar in the Filtering field to the sensitivity number you want. Remember, the lower the number, the stronger the sensitivity of the filter. Close the Folders window.
Over the next few days, check the folder you designated for spam to see what types of messages are going there instead of your In Box. If you are still getting too much spam delivered to your In Box, try setting the filter to a lower number, then monitoring the spam folder. If you are getting too many valid messages delivered to the folder designated for spam, try setting the filter to a higher number, then monitoring what goes into your spam folder. You may need to make a few adjustments to the filter sensitivity level for the types of spam you receive.
