Note: You must install the GreenPrint (Pharos) software on
your computer before proceeding. For more information, see

For Mac OS X 10.5
- From the Apple menu, select System
Preferences, then click the Printer & Fax
icon.
- Click the + button.
- While holding down the [Ctrl] key, click anywhere on the
Tool bar. From the pop-up menu that appears, select Customized
Toolbar.
- Drag the Advanced icon to the Tool bar, then close the
Customization box.
- Click the Advanced icon from the Tool bar.
- From the Type pop-up button, select Pharos Print
Server.
- In the URL field, enter
popup://129.170.17.12:515/GreenPrint (case sensitive).
- In the Name field, enter GreenPrint (case
sensitive).
- From the Print Using button, select Apple
from the Printer Model popup menu.
- From the list of printers, select Apple LaserWriter 12/660
PS, then click Add.
- The GreenPrint print queue should now be available from all applications on
your computer.
For Mac OS X 10.4
- Select Go from the Menu bar (the Finder
has to be the active application), then Utilities.
Double-click Print Setup Utility.
- If there are printers with the name GreenPrint in the
Printer List window, highlight them, then click
Delete.
- Click Add.
- Hold down the [option] key and click the More
Printers button. Release the [option] key.
- A new menu drops from the Menu bar. Select
Advanced from the popup menu located at the top of the new
drop menu.
- Select Pharos Print Server from the
Device pop-up menu.
- In the Device Name text field, enter
GreenPrint (case sensitive).
- In the Device URL text field, enter
popup://129.170.17.12:515/GreenPrint (case sensitive).
- From the Printer Model pop-up menu, select
Apple.
- From the list of printers, select Apple LaserWriter 12/660
PS, then click Add.
- The Printer List window will re-appear. Quit Printer Setup Utility. The
printer has been successfully installed.
- For changes to take effect, log out, then log back in as
administrator.
For Mac OS X 10.3 and Earlier
- Select Go from the Menu bar (Finder has
to be the active application), then Applications. Open the
Utilities folder (within the Applications
folder), then double-click Print Center or Print Setup
Utility.
- If there are printers with the name GreenPrint in the
Printer List window, highlight them and click Delete.
- Hold down the [option] key and click Add.
Release the [option] key.
- A new menu drops from the Menu bar. Select
Advanced from the pop-up menu located at the top of the new
drop menu.
- Select Pharos Print Server from the
Device pop-up menu.
- Enter GreenPrint in the Device Name text
field.
- Enter popup://oslo.dartmouth.edu/GreenPrint in the
Device URI text field.
- Select Apple from the Printer Model
pop-up menu.
- Select Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS from the list of
printer, then click Add.
- The Printer List window will re-appear. Quit Printer Setup Utility. The
printer has been successfully installed.
When you try to print to GreenPrint, a Pharos pop-up window will appear.
Enter your DND (BlitzMail) user name and
password in the appropriate fields and enter the name
of the job you are trying to print. Click OK. This
job will now appear in the list of print jobs available for release at any
GreenPrint Release Station.
