Dartmouth automatically sets up BlitzMail accounts for new students, paid faculty, and staff and assigns a default password. You sign on to BlitzMail with your Dartmouth Name Directory (DND) name and password. Your DND name is your name in the form <firstname middle initial last name> (e.g. John A. Doe). Your DND password is a randomly generated series of numbers, letters and characters. This should have been sent to you when your account was created. See Changing Your BlitzMail Password to change it to something easier for you to remember.
- When the BlitzMail sign-on box appears, enter your DND name.

- In the Password field, enter the password provided to you via a letter sent to your Hinman box.
- Make sure the Site field is set to Dartmouth College if you are logging into your Dartmouth.edu account.
- Alternatively, when using Blitzmail for Mac version 2.9 or greater, if you have the Dartmouth root certificate and a private certificate available to your computer, check the Use PKI check box to logon.
- When you click OK, you will be prompted for your PKI certificate password.
- The setting for using the PKI certifiacates is retained until you uncheck it.
Please contact the IT Service Desk (Help Desk) at 646-2999 and select from the options provided, send electronic mail to help@dartmouth.edu, or call your department's IT support office if you have questions about accessing your account.
Graduate students and other students who cannot remember their password should go to the Student IT Service Desk (Help Desk), located in 172 Carson Hall, with their Dartmouth or other picture ID (passport) between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Friday, to have their password reset.
