In BlitzMail, nicknames can be added or deleted by selecting
Edit DND Entry from the BlitzMail menu.
- The Nicknames field in BlitzMail may contain up
to five words.
- You do not need to include any portion of your full name. For example, if
your name is 'Christopher' or 'Christine' and you go by 'Chris,' 'Chris'
doesn't need to be included as a nickname. But if your name is 'Robert' and you
go by 'Bob,' you need to include 'Bob' as a nickname because 'Bob' does not
appear anywhere in 'Robert.'
- Nicknames are not guaranteed to be unique! Be sure to give
people outside Dartmouth your complete e-mail address to insure the safe
delivery of your mail. This is especially important when printing business
cards, letterhead, brochures, etc. Only e-mail sent to your full e-mail
address is guaranteed to reach you.
- Do not abuse nicknames. It is not appropriate to impersonate anyone else in
the Dartmouth Community by using their name as your nickname.
