Chain Letters

< Previous | Next >

Another type of an unsolicited message is electronic chain letters (created when a message is forwarded to several people, each in turn forwards it to many more). It doesn't take many people participating in chain letters to create hundreds or thousands of useless messages.

If you burden the electronic mail system with all these useless messages, it will have that much less time to devote to more important things. In addition, the various national and international networks to which Dartmouth is connected strictly prohibit chain letters.

Please do not propagate electronic chain letters; if you receive one, do not send it on. Delete it and ask the original sender to cease distribution of the chain letter.
