Resetting Your BiltzMail Password

If you forget your BlitzMail password, it can be reset by Computing Services. Please note that for security reasons, we cannot reassign your password over the telephone or via e-mail. You may be required to show a picture ID, so be prepared to supply one.

  • If you are a student, please stop by the Student Computing Help Desk in 172 Carson Hall during their regular business hours. Be sure to bring your Dartmouth ID card with you. If you are away from campus (e.g., on a foreign study program, off for a term, or a new student) and cannot make it to the Student Computing Help Desk, please call them at (603) 646-2999 (press 2).
  • If you are a professional school faculty or staff member, please go to your department's computing support office for your school with your Dartmouth ID card. They will reset your password for you. Faculty and staff located at DHMC can go to DHMC User Support. Be sure to bring your Dartmouth ID card with you. They will verify your identity and ask us to reset your password.
  • If you are a faculty or staff member in the Arts & Sciences, please contact your department's computing support office to have your password reset. If you are unsure of the name of the computer consultant that supports your office, the complete list of consultants and the departments they support is available online; see All Consultants By Department. You can also call the Computing Help Desk at 646-2999 and select from the options provided to reach your consultant.
  • If you are an administrative staff member, please contact your department's computing support office to have your password reset.   • For organizations/courses, the faculty or staff advisor for all course accounts and officially recognized organizations/groups will need to send a request to help@dartmouth.edu. An e-mail message request is acceptable. Please include the following information in your request:

    • The organization or group name.
    • The name(s) of the user(s) who will be administering the account.

    Once modified, a verification message will be sent back to the advisor. The advisor can then distribute the password to those needing access to the account.
  • For departments, the department head or chair for a department's account will need to send a request to help@dartmouth.edu. Academic departments should send the request to their department's computing support office. An e-mail message request is acceptable. Please include the following information in your request:

    • The department name.
    • The name(s) of the user(s) who will be administering the account.

  • Once modified, a verification message will be sent back to the person who submitted the request. That person can then distribute the password to those needing access to the account.
