How Do Devices That Use the Wireless Network, But Are Not Capable of Installing Certificates, Use the Wireless Network?

Devices that fall into this category may include older smart phones, older PDAs, robotic devices, vending machines, embedded devices, wireless printers, among others.

These devices can be registered to use the wireless network. Send an e-mail message to help@dartmouth.edu that includes the following information:

  • The make and model of the device you have.
  • The operating system it is using.
  • The MAC address of the device.
  • Why it needs to be connected to the wireless network.

Registration of these systems is only available to Dartmouth faculty and staff.

You should be aware that when using these devices on the wireless network the data transmission will not be encrypted.

If you have problems finding this information, contact the Computing Help Desk at 646-2999 or your department's computing support office.
