What Do I Do If I Lost My eToken?

If you lose your eToken, students should contact the Student IT Service Desk (Help Desk); faculty and staff should contact their department's IT support office. The certificate that was installed on your eToken will need to be revoked so someone else will not be able to use your eToken if they find it.

You will need to purchase a replacement eToken at Computer Sales and Service. There is a fee to replace a lost eToken.

Once you obtain a replacement eToken, students should take it to the Student IT Service Desk (Help Desk) at 172 Carson Hall. Faculty and staff should contact their department's IT support office. The IT Service Desk will personalize the new eToken with your information. You will then be able to use your new eToken to access any systems your lost eToken allowed you to access. However, you may not be able to retrieve any e-mail messages or files that you encrypted with the lost eToken unless you have a backup of the private key from the lost eToken.
