Testing a Certificate

Previous | Next >

The following list will verify that you can connect to a PKI-protected Web site with a certificate issued by Dartmouth College:

  • Your browser may present you with a list of certificates. If so, pick your Dartmouth certificate. When asked for your certificate password; enter it.
  • Click Here to Test your PKI Certificate
  • Test is Successful: If the test was successful, you will receive a confirmation message.
  • Test Unsuccessful: If the test was not successful.
    • On the browser details page, follow the instructions for verifying that your certificate is OK for the browser you are using.
    • Part of your installation may be incorrect. Make sure you followed the instructions for getting a certificate as well as the Dartmouth Root Certificate.

If the test is still not successful, check the Frequently Asked Questions page and double-check the information in the appropriate browser details page. If the problem continues, call the Computing Help Desk at 646-2999 and select from the options provided, send electronic mail to help@dartmouth.edu, or call your department's computing support office.
