Decrypting a File

Pgp (pretty good protection) can be used to decrypt files that were encrypted with pgp. To decrypt a file named secret_codes.pgp, use the command pgp secret_codes.pgp.

Pgp will ask you for the pass phrase that was used to encrypt the file. If you have forgotten the pass phrase, you will not be able to decrypt your file.

For information on encrypting a file, see Encrypting a File.
