If you live outside of the Hanover/White River Junction/Bradford calling area, you may have to pay a toll charge to dial into the Dartmouth network. One alternative is to acquire service from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in your local calling area. Once you are on the Internet, you can access many portions of the Dartmouth network.
Check the agreements carefully as some of the ISPs listed below charge a fixed fee for a certain number of connect hours, with an additional charge for extra hours. You can check your current telephone bills to determine your dialing habits, and work out the comparable charges through an ISP. In addition to dial-up access, these companies all offer other services such as e-mail accounts, space for your Web page, and in some cases, high-speed access via DSL, cable modem, ISDN, or satellite. Check the Web page of these ISPs to see if the high-speed service is available in your location.
