ISDN, DSL, and Cable Modem Services

< Previous | Next >

All of these services require an external box that connects to the laptop. These services are often available in urban centers in the United States and in developed countries. You will need local assistance to set them up. These services make sense if you are going to leave the Hanover area for an extended period and you need access to institutional networks or you have a lot of Internet-connected work to do. Be sure to check with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the organization (Hotel, business, or cafe, etc.) offering these services to ensure you get the proper equipment and configuration information to connect safely.
