As computer tools proliferate, finding answers about how to use them
effectively, how to make a change, or how to solve a troublesome issue becomes
more and more difficult. Frequently, the same questions are asked and the same
answers are given.
FAQ is a database of Frequently Asked Questions. It is often searchable and
can be used to answer questions not addressed by the manuals or documentation
that accompany computer hardware or software.
Our Computing Help Desk staff uses an FAQ every day, and we are
continually putting more useful information about using computer tools at
Dartmouth into the Dartmouth FAQ. Additionally, we've included some links to
outside vendors' FAQs (see Other
FAQs) that may address your needs or issues. If you have suggestions on how
to improve this service, or if you have an issue that isn't addressed in our
