Dartmouth offers several Windows software programs for your use.
To install the core Dartmouth software that is site licensed for Dartmouth, download and run the Software Install Wizard, entering your Dartmouth user name and password when prompted. You must have a constant connection to the Internet while this installation wizard is running. This may take several minutes to run with a wired connection to the Internet, and longer if you are using a wireless connection.
To download operating system upgrades for your computer, using Internet Explorer, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. To access this website, you must be using Internet Explorer version 6 or later.
Software for authentication, public printing, KeyServer, file transfer, telnet, VPN, web browser.
E-mail, web, backup, calendar, Office updates.
Software tools for research and the classroom.
Publishing, page design, text editing and PDF management software.
Note: All of the software packages in this area are old versions that may not run properly on newer computers. Up-to-date versions of these applications, or their successors, are available for purchase at academically reduced prices from Computer Sales and Service.
