Overall System Status:
RStor is Dartmouth's research file storage system, built on OpenAFS software. RStor provides secure, shared file storage for the Research Computing systems and for faculty computers across campus. Client software can be installed on almost any computer, and will present the storage as a network filesystem (share). Although designed for the needs of researchers, accounts are available to all members of the Dartmouth community. RStor uses strong authentication and flexible access control, and can be used to share files across the internet.
Faculty, staff, and graduate students each receive a default allocation of 20GB for their home directories. Undergraduate students receive a default allocation of 10GB.
Additional storage for large research data collections, up to 2TB per volume, is available on a hardware cost-recovery basis. As of April 2013, the rate is $180/TB/yr for a replicated volume (2 copies). Please read and complete the RStor Service Level Agreement to request additional storage.
