The Classroom Technology Services (CTS) rate structure reflects the actual
cost of providing audiovisual services to the Dartmouth College community.
There are two categories of service:
- Direct Course Support. Those services provided for, and
only for, instruction or other requirements for receiving credit in an
ORC-listed course are offered at no cost to the department.
- Other Services. Services such as audio-visual support for
public lectures or conferences and symposiums are charged for the number of
staff hours worked on a particular event or project. Equipment charges have
been included in these hourly rates. Materials are added.
Additional charges may apply if the requested services greatly exceed a
typical level of support provided for a course or event, or when a service is
requested that is not directly related to the CTS academic support mission. For
example, charges may be assessed for Direct Course Support if an
extraordinary effort or expense is necessary to deliver a requested service.
Charges beyond the rates for Other Services may be assessed for events
that require special staffing arrangements because of short notice or otherwise
require extraordinary services. Charges assessed in these exceptional cases are
determined on a case-by-case basis.
