Corbis Education

What Is Corbis Education?

  • Corbis Education is an educational spin-off of Corbis.com, a major provider of digital images.
  • The Dartmouth subscription gives you access to the Fine Arts & Historical Collection.
  • It contains about 360,000 images from the Bettmann Archive, Hulton-Deutsch, and the Library of Congress.

How Can Dartmouth Faculty and Students Use The Images?

  • The images can only be used in curricular contexts at Dartmouth (i.e., in connection with a specific course at Dartmouth).
  • The images cannot be used for personal Web pages, general project Web pages, departmental Web pages, research projects, or commercial purposes.
  • Students and faculty have equal access to the Corbis collection.
  • Be sure to review the details of the Corbis Education License Agreement.

What Are Corbis Images Useful For?

Corbis images are useful for:

  • Low-resolution images (640480 pixels).
  • PowerPoint presentations, Web pages, and Blackboard course Web sites.

They are less suitable for printing (resolution too low).

How Can I Use Corbis Images

Corbis images are easy to use; they do not need extensive editing. They are already optimized for computer display!
