If you are experiencing a problem with your telephone line and you provide your own telephone equipment, please test your telephone equipment (including answering machines) on another outlet to determine whether the problem is in the line or the equipment. Also try every jack in the room.
Some rooms are provided with a VoIP phone, and testing of the equipment will be limited for these rooms. For example, the phone will only work in the wall jack that it is plugged into; you cannot try it in other wall jack.
If the problem appears to be in the telephone line, then you can report the trouble to the Computing Help Desk at 6-2999 or help@dartmouth.edu with the following information:
- Dorm Name
- Room Number
- Jack ID (if marked)
- Extension (if known)
- User Name
