Is There An Advantage to Printing on Both Sides of the Paper?

Yes. It costs less money and increases the number of pages you can print per term!

Dartmouth students automatically receive a quota of $40 per term for printing on the black-and-white printers. If you use a printer that prints on only one side of the paper [a simplex (single-sided) printer], the maximum number of pages per term will be 800. If you print on a printer that prints on both sides of the paper [a duplex (double-sided) printer], the maximum number of pages per term will be 571 (the equivalent of 1,042 single-sided pages), since printing on one or both sides still counts as a sheet of paper.
