Visitors to Campus

Dartmouth maintains two campus networks, wired and wireless.

The Dartmouth campus network has a fiber optic backbone organized in a star topology, providing 120+ building networks with 30,000+ active data network ports, as well as a campus-wide wireless network

Network Speeds (Wired)

  • Core network: 10gbps (gigabits per second)
  • Room jacks: 100mbps (megabits per second)

Network Speeds (Wireless)

  • The wireless network supports 802.11a/b/g wireless clients
  • Speeds up to 54mbps are supported

Internet Access Speeds

  • Commodity Internet: 400mbps (megabits per second)
  • Internet2 network (Abilene): 155mbps (megabits per second)
